About Garbage2Gold
Garbage2Gold is a municipal solid waste composting company built on nearly two decades of science, testing, and refinement. Using a proprietary blend of microbes, we transform municipal solid waste into Perfect Peat — a clean, rigorously tested compost product that meets EPA pathogen-elimination standards and is safe for fruit and vegetable growth and consumption. We partner with municipalities, private waste management companies, and agricultural operations across the country, helping communities significantly reduce landfill volume while producing something genuinely useful in the process.
Our technology was developed and refined over years of research, then validated through a large-scale test that ran from 2010 through 2011 — proving the process at real operational scale, not just under controlled lab conditions. Garbage2Gold was officially established in October 2025, bringing that validated science to municipalities and organizations ready for a better approach to solid waste.
Meet Our Founder
Garbage2Gold exists because our founder believed in the science behind this process long before it was a company. What began as support for early research into a microbial approach to waste decomposition grew, over years of testing and validation, into a fully realized composting technology — and eventually, into the company Garbage2Gold is today. Our founder’s continued involvement has been guided by a simple principle: don’t bring a technology to market until it’s been proven to actually work, at real scale, under real conditions. That principle still shapes how Garbage2Gold operates, from the way we validate our process to the way we approach every new partnership.
That same principle explains why Garbage2Gold spent so many years developing and testing this technology before ever becoming a formal company. Rather than rushing an early-stage process to market, our founder prioritized getting the science right first — funding continued research, supporting large-scale validation, and only pursuing a company structure once the results consistently proved out. It’s a slower path than most companies take, but it’s the reason municipalities and partners today can evaluate Garbage2Gold based on real, tested results rather than early-stage promises.
What Drives Us
We believe waste doesn’t have to be a dead-end cost. With the right process, it can become a resource — one that reduces landfill burden, meets a genuine regulatory standard, and creates real value on the other side. That belief shapes every partnership we take on.
Proof Over Promises.
Perfect Peat isn't just described as safe — it's tested against 315 elements to confirm it. We believe our partners deserve data, not marketing language, especially for a product used in agricultural settings.
Regulatory Integrity.
Our process is built to meet EPA temperature and pathogen-elimination standards from the ground up, not adjusted after the fact to pass an inspection.
Careful, Responsible Growth.
Because composting regulations vary by state, we take the time to understand each state's specific requirements before bringing our technology to a new market — a slower approach, but one that protects the communities we serve.
Standing Behind the Science.
Nearly two decades of development and testing back every batch of Perfect Peat. We don't cut corners on the process because the results matter to the communities and land that ultimately receive the finished product.
Long-Term Partnership Over Quick Transactions.
We treat every partnership as a significant, long-term commitment rather than a one-time engagement, which means being upfront about timelines, requirements, and realistic outcomes from the very first conversation.
Why This Matters
Landfill capacity is a growing challenge for municipalities across the country, and the traditional playbook — expand landfill space, ship waste further away, or absorb rising disposal costs — isn’t a long-term answer. Garbage2Gold offers a different path: a proven biological process that meaningfully reduces the volume of municipal solid waste, easing pressure on existing infrastructure while producing Perfect Peat, a compost product with genuine agricultural value.
Just as important, this isn’t waste reduction for its own sake. The Perfect Peat compost produced through our process has genuine value — it’s clean enough, tested enough, and safe enough to be used in agricultural applications for fruit and vegetable growth. That means the same process that solves a municipality’s waste volume problem also creates something with real downstream value, rather than simply relocating the problem elsewhere. That combination — real footprint reduction paired with a usable end product — is what sets our approach apart from more conventional waste handling.
What We Do
Garbage2Gold applies a proprietary microbe blend directly to municipal solid waste, kicking off a carefully managed ten-week composting cycle. Moisture is maintained at 60%, the pile is turned every two weeks, and internal temperatures are closely monitored to meet EPA pathogen-elimination requirements throughout. The result, Perfect Peat, is tested against 315 individual elements to confirm there are no harmful residuals in the finished compost.
This process serves three groups: municipalities managing Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) programs, private waste management companies handling collection and disposal, and agricultural operations that put the finished Perfect Peat product to use. Because composting regulations differ from state to state, we take a deliberate, state-by-state approach to bringing our technology to new markets, rather than a one-size-fits-all national rollout
How We Approach Every Partnership
We know that adopting a new waste management approach is a significant decision for any municipality, waste management company, or agricultural operation — these are substantial, long-term commitments, not small transactions. That’s why we start every relationship with a clear, honest conversation about what a partnership would actually involve: the regulatory approvals needed in your state, the realistic timeline for standing up a program, and what results you can expect once the process is running. We’d rather set accurate expectations from day one than oversell a quick win.
This same philosophy carries through every stage of a partnership, not just the initial conversation. As a program moves from initial discussion into active operation, we stay closely involved — monitoring results, confirming testing standards are being met batch after batch, and making sure our partners have a clear, ongoing picture of how their program is performing. We see our role as an active, long-term partner throughout the life of a program, not a vendor who disappears once a contract is signed.
Let's Talk
If your municipality or organization is exploring better ways to manage solid waste, Garbage2Gold is ready to talk. Backed by nearly two decades of development and real-world testing, our process gives you a partner you can trust with real data behind every claim — and one that stays involved for the life of the partnership, not just the sale.
